Do you feel you’ve lost your identity in your host country?

  • Did you leave your home where all of your family and friends live?

  • Did you leave your work in your home country?

  • Do you feel that many things are very different in the host country?

  • Do you feel you are stuck, powerless, anxious, resentment, hatred, and/or angry?

This message is for you.

Thank you very much for finding this site. Thank you very much for reading this. You might have been searching online hours and hours, weeks and weeks, or month and month to seek a solution. You might find it difficult to type keywords for your solutions because your idea is vague. Or you might haven’t been able to do anything because you have lost your hope and energy for creating your future. Have you felt like you have transformed into a different person since you landed to the host country?

I am here for you.

I was there just like you.

In the summer of 2014, I was relocated to the States and it caused me leaving my challenging and exciting job, wonderful family&friends, and the life I felt comfortable with. In the new country, I was clueless. I didn’t know how to register my child into a local school. I didn’t know which brand of bread we’d like to eat. I was born and grew up in Tokyo without a car, so I was not used to driving around. Also, I was not making any money to support our family. So I felt that I was heavily depending on my husband. I didn’t like the situation, but I didn’t want to go through uncomfortable situations as if I became a child again. Therefore, I hesitated to go out, meet anyone, and do anything new.

For about two years, I had a conversation with myself. It took me a long time, but it helped a lot. During this process, I started to realize my potential and ability. And I started to believe that I could do a lot more. When I look back I have realized that I was coaching myself. When I had a conversation with myself, I didn’t realize that I was coaching myself, but I was.

When I was in Japan, I encountered COACHING through my work. The knowledge was still limited, but it was very helpful. That was why I decided to learn thoroughly about coaching to help others who are where I was.

If you feel you have lost your identity and can’t find what you want to do. Coaching might help.

Coaching Sessions

Are you starting a life in a new environment? Do you work with people from all over the world? Would you like to expand your international experiences?

You might have an experience that you come up with great ideas at a brainstorming session. It is telling you that discussions with someone else give you opportunities to think broader and deeper. And you'd be surprised that you come up with excellent ideas which you would not get if you were doing it by yourself. Similar things happen during coaching sessions. A coach helps you to visualize a goal and to create plans to reach the goal.

Tell me what you would like to achieve. Let’s find out how you can obtain your goals.

Marketing team meeting

Group Coaching

Would you like to discuss common topics and/or rising issues with an experienced facilitator as well as with other people who are in a similar situation to you?

It is very common to find out that someone you know has similar worries and listening to other people's stories gives you a great hint about your concerns. It will be a great opportunity for you to get new perspectives by having deep discussions with someone you trust.  Also, your experiences and stories can be beneficial to someone else.

There are two ways to have group sessions.

1) You can create your own group with a specific topic to work with and come to us.

Advantage: You can choose a topic and members

Challenge: You have to coordinate

2) We will provide a topic and look for people to participate.

Advantage: You don't have to find people to join

Challenge: Timing and topic might not work well

It is a service for organizations.

As you know, our bodies are made from what we eat. And today's choice of food will form your body in the future. In a similar way, organizations are made by people who work there. And what and how you invest in your organization will form your organization’s future.

Are your employees performing fully? Are they helping and supporting each other to develop their potential? Are leaders helping their direct reports' growth?

Let's understand your organization and people in terms of the area of improvements. Then find out what kind of organization you would like to create and what is needed to achieve the goal. We are happy to work with you.

About Me

Do you feel you are restricted in your host country?

<I was there>

In the summer of 2014, I relocated with my husband and two young children to the US from Japan. I left a career  I really enjoyed, said goodbye to my family and friends, and departed from a city with wonderful stores and restaurants within walking distance.
Starting a new life with young children in a new country was difficult, and it took me a year or two to begin to feel comfortable. Back in Japan, I had an intuitive understanding of how everything was supposed to work. Where and whom I should go if there are any concern and issue. However, everything was different in a new country.

<Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional>
Looking back, I believe those first one or two years could have been more fun and enjoyable if there were someone who understood my situation -- someone who could share his/her experience and work together with me to address my issues and concerns. That's why I decided to obtain a coaching certification to help people who are where I was. In addition to that, I have 10 years of experience as an HR consultant in the talent development field. Also, I worked for an American company in Japan and worked with people not only from the USA, but also from Korea, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and more. In the company, I experienced and learned intercultural differences such as values and priorities and how to optimize diversity.

In the academic area, I obtained an International MBA from E.M.Lyon graduate school in France with other students from 20 or more countries.

Based on my experience, I believe that I am suitable to serve people who live and work overseas. And I am confident that I can support you.

I am a certified professional coach and certified from one of the best coaching school in the world. I have equipped with great experience and tools as a coach. Also, in terms of my personal aspect, my husband and I are an intercultural couple, raising our two multinational children in two cultures, and I have started a business in the States as a non-citizen. I'd love to share my knowledge and experience with you.

What is coaching?

ICF (The International Coach Federation) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

In other words, Coach

1) helps a client to identify what he/she wants in his/her personal and/or professional life

2) discusses with the client to determine how to reach the goal

3 ) supports the client until he/she reaches his/her goal

What is the difference between coaching and other specialties?

  • CONSULTING: Consultants are experts in certain fields. They have an agenda and provide possible solutions.

  • THERAPY: Therapists typically helps clients/patients to fix problems, overcome issues and sometimes manage mental illness.

  • MENTORING: Mentors are role models. They give advice and guidance based on their experience and success stories.

  • COACHING: Coaches work to help a client to get what he/she wants. Coaches partner with the client to help implement a plan to reach a goal. Coaches do not see anything as a problem but as an opportunity. Also, coaches are experts on the coaching process.

What is the benefit of hiring a coach?

How many hours in a day, week, or month do you spend to think only about yourself? How much money, time, and effort do you invest in your future? It is easy to take care of someone else and to put an effort for family and other stuff.

How much time do you spend for yourself? How much time, money, and effort do you spend on your future? It tends to postpone your own development unless you are aware of it. However, it is your own future. It is very important. It may be possible to find a path to whom you would like to be by having coaching sessions.

Based on a research, there are many benefits to hiring a coach such as improvement in productivity, satisfaction with life and work, and the attainment of relevant goals.

Rave Reviews

Aya coached me for three months. I also have studied career and business coaching but it was difficult to solve my own issues. Even when I was not sure if I could bring up a topic for our session,  Aya listened to my story compassionately and guided me to find out what I really wanted to do. By the end of the session, I reached a conclusion that I knew it was the best for me. It was painful until I made my mind, however, I could overcome the hardship because Aya coached me.

Now I understand what I want and am able to focus on those things. It is also true that I do not worry about what others would think anymore.

Aya studied and lived in several countries, so she is accepting and open-minded. I encourage you to talk to Aya even if you are uncomfortable to talk to someone about yourself. She should be able to help you find what you really want and support you reaching the goal. Wish your coaching experience be a wonderful one!

M.Y. Japan

Working with Aya is a GAME CHANGER! After every coaching, I feel unstoppable!  In some sessions, I need a cheerleader and in others, I need someone not afraid to offer tough love.  Aya challenges me like no other and because of her, I've been able to fearlessly jump into the opportunities that I once feared. Everyone needs Aya in their life!

L.C. USA

A smart and resourceful coach are the phrases that come to mind when I think about Aya. I have had the pleasure of being coached by Aya for three months. As a trained iPEC coach, she puts together all of the skills, knowledge, and craftsmanship of a great coach. Aya would be a real asset for anyone, becoming or is an expat or their spouse with her attention to detail, excellent communication and empathy and that comes with my heartfelt recommendation.

K.M. USA

Doing multiple values assessments for both my personal and professional life have made me feel more grounded in my belief system, and informed how I can make decisions about my future that align with what I truly care about (and not how I compare myself to others). Aya has been a calming force in helping me navigate the uncertainty, and has always made me feel empowered and supported in my journey of self-discovery. Thank you, Aya!

C.H. USA

Just very thankful for working with Aya. She continually teaches me the importance of setting goals and objectives before diving into the work. I'm also appreciative of her active listening skills and advice on how I can go about strengthening my ideas.

G.G. USA

Aya is a wonderful coach with a true passion for helping people adjust and thrive in the US.
