Tips during self-quarantine/Coronavirus pandemic #3

How is your daily life?



I have noticed trees have started to sprout in New Jersey. Spring is here. In a few weeks, we start to see leaves to come out and in a few months, we will have summer.


Nobody knows how long this pandemic will last, however, it’s not wise to worry and feel miserable all the time. It is important to be careful, get sufficient trustable information, and stay home. However, worrying about what might happen all day long can cause another issue for your mental and physical health.


So, I’d like to introduce another technique called “Visioning”.


#3: VISIONING


Have you experienced visioning exercises before? It’s a powerful technique to make your dream happen.


When you do a visioning exercise in the normal circumstance, we’d discuss the following things:

  • What kind of situations you would like to be in

  • What kind of thoughts you would like to have

  • What kind of feelings you would like to experience

  • What kind of actions you would like to take


However, when uncertainty is happening, it might not work as efficiently as usual.


So let’s think:

  • What are your ideal situations are under the current circumstances?

  • In this situation, what would an ideal you do? What would you see? What would you smell? What would you wear? What would you say? What would you…?

  • What is the ONE thing YOU can change to be close to the ideal situation today?

  • What is the other ONE thing YOU can do tomorrow?


It’s not easy if you love going out, meeting your friends, and doing activities. Also, even if you are not so outgoing person, still this situation is challenging. I am an introvert person and rarely go out and/or see friends. But I have noticed there is a difference between “choosing not to go out” and “cannot go out”.

On the other hand, have you experienced that you had a hard time choosing one from a huge wish list? Just picking one candy from a huge candy store! In that case, you might feel it’d be easier if choices are limited. Now, you can choose your ideal situation from the limited wish list.


You can always find a benefit anywhere if you look for it!
